Our Approach to Climate Adaptation:

Adaptation to climate change consists of initiatives and measures (including policy change) implemented to reduce the vulnerability of natural and human systems and to predict climate change and variability. The implementation of adaptation measures is of critical importance especially in least developed countries characterised by low capacity. We believe that adaptation requires active participation of all the sections of the society such as governments, corporates, NGOs and even individuals to reduce vulnerability of regions and people to the negative impacts of climate change. Such initiatives include preparedness for natural disasters such as floods, drought etc or changing the livelihood and income generation activities by attuning them to climate change.

Adaptation can adopt a variety of forms, such as better education, training and awareness of climate change and more technical measures, such as drought-resistant seeds and better coastal protection. To this end, we contribute our part through orientation and capacity building initiatives for various stakeholders. For many communities, the direction of climate change remains uncertain, so focus is also placed on increasing their adaptive capacity in relation to key sectors, such as agriculture and health.
We at Greenstratos develop strategic plans for adapting to climate change, which includes an assessment of the risks facing a particular region and the actions required for adapting to those risks. To reduce the impact of climate change on a country's development, we aim to enable integration of adaptation into mainstream development policies.
